Engineers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dignity at Golden’s Day
Care Centre for Senior Citizens, Lower Roop Nagar, Jammu, on 15th September.
The programme was organised jointly by the Engineers and Management
Committee of Golden’s Day Care Centre to honour the contribution of engineers
towards nation-building and social development.
Sh. Sham Lal Sharma Ji, Hon’ble MLA, Jammu North, graced the occasion as the
Chief Guest. His gracious presence added significance and warmth to the
celebrations. He appreciated the efforts being made by the Centre for the welfare,
health, recreation and active ageing of senior citizens.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the Chief Guest and the
gathering of senior engineer members, distinguished guests and members of the
Centre. Speakers highlighted the immense contribution of engineers in shaping
modern society through innovation, technology, infrastructure development and
dedicated public service.
On the occasion, the gathering paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam
Visvesvaraya, whose birth anniversary is observed as Engineers’ Day in India. His
exemplary life, technical vision, discipline and commitment to national
development were recalled with respect.
The celebration also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the valuable
services and experience of the senior engineer members of Golden’s Day Care
Centre, many of whom have rendered distinguished service in various
departments and organisations during their professional careers.
The Centre’s Coordinators and Management Committee expressed their gratitude
to all engineer members for their continued association and contribution towards
strengthening the activities of the Centre. The gathering also witnessed cultural
and recreational activities, creating an atmosphere of friendship, fellowship and
celebration among the senior citizens.
