JAMMU : In a significant development, Jammu Police has recovered heroin-like substance from a woman who is employed in the Jammu and Kashmir Police itself.
Continuing its drive against drug trafficking, Police Station Miran Sahib had established a naka at Balol Naka near Indranagar for checking of vehicles.
During routine checking, the police party intercepted a Scooty bearing Registration No. JK02DW-7378 being driven by Shameem Begum W/o Mohd. Rafiq, R/o Dak Banglow, Maralian.
During checking, approximately *15 grams of heroin (Chitta)-like substance* was recovered from her possession.
In this regard, *FIR No. 161/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/60 of the NDPS Act* has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered substance.
*It is pertinent to mention that the accused lady is employed in the Jammu and Kashmir Police as a Follower*, officials confirmed.
Jammu Police reiterated its commitment to taking stringent action against drug trafficking irrespective of the person involved and said it remains committed to safeguarding the younger generation from the menace of drugs.
