JAMMU ::Ahead of Dussehra Festival on October 20, 2026, the Traffic Police City Jammu has issued a public notice regarding traffic restrictions and diversions in view of two major Jhankis / Shobha Yatras to be taken out in Jammu City.
A large number of devotees and prominent citizens are expected to accompany the Jhankis.
*JHANKI NO. 01 - Timing: 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM*
*Route:*
Dewan Mandir Jammu → Moti Bazar → Purani Mandi → City Chowk → Kanak Mandi → Rajinder Bazaar → Veer Marg → Shree Raghunath Ji Temple → Raghunath Bazar → Shalamar Road → Parade Ground Jammu.
The Jhanki No. 01 will be stationed at Raghunath Ji Temple and thereafter proceed towards Parade Ground Jammu via Shalamar.
*JHANKI NO. 02 - Timing: 5:00 PM to 06:00 PM*
*Route:*
Lakshmi Narayan Ji Temple Gandhi Nagar → A/B Block → Gole Market → Govt. Quarters → Shiv Mandir → Last Morh → Back Side Higher Secondary School → Dussehra Ground Gandhi Nagar.
*TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS ANNOUNCED:*
1. Traffic coming from Vivekanand Chowk / Hari Market side towards Raghunath Bazar will be diverted to other routes at the time of procession/Jhanki.
2. Traffic coming from City Chowk towards Kanak Mandi will be diverted till culmination of procession/Jhanki.
3. There shall be partial diversion of all vehicles coming towards the route of Jhanki No. 01 as per ground requirement.
4. There shall be diversion at Library Chowk / Parade during the movement of the Jhanki.
5. There shall be some on-spot diversions of vehicles on the Apsara Road as well as at the back side of the Apsara Theatre.
The general public has been requested to cooperate with the Traffic Police and to avoid movement on the above-mentioned routes during the Jhanki procession. Inconvenience to the public is regretted.
