Today, in Ranjri, Jammu, Sadguru Shri Madhu Paramhans Ji Maharaj the guiding light of the 'Sahib Bandgi' tradition blessed the congregation with a profound discourse.
He observed that people today do not exercise discernment when adopting beliefs or practices. He recounted asking a man, "Whom do you worship?" The man named a particular deity. When asked why, he replied, "I don't really know; my parents worshipped this deity, so I do the same." People in this world often follow others blindly in their acts of devotion.
Consider what happens when you go to buy something: a shopkeeper might subtly 'brainwash' you, leading you to make a purchase without true awareness. Proponents of various sects and ideologies often propagate their viewssometimes even resorting to falsehoods or disparaging othersto establish their own path as the 'truth.' Some advocate for the practice of Yoga, claiming it will lead to the vision of the 'Alakh Purush' (the Unmanifest Divine). Ascetics (Sannyasis) emphasize the importance of penance (tapasya). Devotees of Lord Shiva (Jangams) assert that there is no one greater than Him. Others, such as certain dervishes, insist on following the path prescribed by the Vedas.
'Sahib' (the Sadguru) laments that while he offers the true path, no one listens. It is the way of the world to accept falsehood as truth, while failing to place trust in the actual Truth.
'Sahib' explains that while engaging in any form of devotion is not inherently 'bad,' it will not liberate you from the cycle of birth and deaththe greatest suffering in this world. According to the scriptures, at the moment of death, one falls into a state of unconsciousness, experiencing agony equivalent to being stung by sixteen scorpions simultaneously. Everything one has acquired must be left behind. Even those whose very roar once made the earth tremble have eventually returned to the dust. Reflect upon the agony of death: you become distressed if your vehicle is lost, sorrowful if you lose money, pained if a family member falls ill, and devastated if your child dies or goes missing. At the moment of death, everything is snatched away at once. This is the realm of mortality; everything will come to an end simultaneously. When the messengers of death (Yamdoot) extract the life force, it feels as though needles are piercing the body. The person can neither speak nor gesture to convey what is happening to them. This 'chamber' (the body) is forcibly emptied. Therefore, for the ultimate well-being of your soul, seek out a true spiritual master (Sadguru).
