JAMMU :

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has constituted three key organisational bodies for the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), including the Political Affairs Committee, Disciplinary Action Committee and Training Department.

According to a press release issued by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal on September 17, the proposal for constitution of the three bodies has been approved by the Congress President with immediate effect.

The move comes as part of the party's organisational restructuring in Jammu and Kashmir, with the three bodies being assigned responsibilities relating to political affairs, disciplinary matters and organisational training.

The Disciplinary Action Committee comprises Shri Bashir Ahmad Magrey, Shri Thakur Balbir Singh, Shri T.S. Bajwa, Shri Jahangir Hussain Mir and Shri Ashok Dogra.

The Training Department comprises Shri Mohd Iqbal Shawl, Shri Ashok Bhagat, Shri Rajesh Sadotra, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Er. Jang Bahadur, Shri Nazir Ahmed Shah, Shri Abdul Ahad Mir and Shri Irfan Naqeeb.

The AICC communication states that the three bodies have been constituted specifically for the Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and will come into force immediately.

The constitution of these committees assumes significance for the J&K Congress organisation as the party seeks to strengthen its internal organisational mechanisms. The Disciplinary Action Committee is expected to deal with matters concerning discipline within the organisation, while the Training Department will focus on organisational training and capacity-building of party workers.

The AICC release, however, does not provide details of the specific responsibilities, terms of reference or meeting schedule of these newly constituted bodies.
