NEW DELHI:The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended nine advocates for appointment as judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The decision was taken at a Collegium meeting held on *October 29, 2026.*
Those recommended for appointment as Judges of the J&K and Ladakh High Court are:
1. *Vishal Sharma*
2. *Vikram Kumar Sharma*
3. *Namgyal Wangchuk*
4. *Pawan Kumar Kundal*
5. *Tahir Majid Shamsi*
6. *Tabasum Zafar*
7. *Amit Gupta*
8. *Pranav Kohli*
9. *Anupam Raina*
Once approved by the Ministry of Law and Justice and the President of India, the appointments will help fill vacancies and reduce pendency in the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, which has been functioning with a strength much below its sanctioned strength.
The Collegium is headed by the Chief Justice of India and comprises senior-most judges of the Supreme Court. The recommendations have been sent to the Central Government for further process.
